CHAPTER 248.

An act to allow Thomas W. De Coursey, late Collector of
Taxes for Queen Anne's County, further time to complete
his Collections.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Thomas W. De Coursey, late collector of
taxes in Queen Anne's county, be and he is hereby author-
ized to collect any and all taxes or balances of taxes due to
him, and now remaining uncollected for the several years
in which he was collector of the taxes in the said county in
the same manner and with the same privileges and powers
he could or might have done within the time limited by
law.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Thomas W.
De Coursey, before he proceeds to collect under and by
virtue of this act, shall make out and deliver to the person
or persons from whom any taxes or balances of taxes may
be demanded, an account of the taxes or balances duo, from
such person or persons, and if required by the party annex
thereto, an affidavit that the same is due and unpaid.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the authority hereby
given shall continue until the fifteenth day of May in the year
eighteen hundred and forty-three, and no longer.

An act to allow Thomas H. Ford, late Sheriff of Queen
Anne's County, further time to complete, his Collections,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Thomas H. Ford, late sheriff of Queen
Anne's county, be and he is hereby authorized and empow-
ered by himself or any person or persons he may appoint
and depute for the purpose to collect all fees, sums of mo-
ney and balances which may be due and owing to him as
sheriff, for the several years in which he was sheriff of said.
