chapter sixteen, of December session, one thousand eight
hundred and thirty-nine, requiring the appointment of a
purveyor to the Maryland Penitentiary, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

CHAP. 217,

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the duties heretofore
imposed upon the purveyor aforesaid, shall hereafter be
performed by the warden, or by the deputy warden under
his direction.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall
be construed to authorise the payment of any perquisite,
fee, or increase of salary to said warden or deputy warden,
for the performance of said duties.

A supplement to the act enlarging the powers of the High
Court of Chancery.

Section !. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said court shall have full power and
authority on the application by bill or petition of a trustee
appointed by said court to sell real estate, to compel the
purchaser thereof to comply with all or any of the terms
of such sale, by process of attachment or other execution
suited to the case, or the said court upon such application
may direct the property purchased to be resold at the risk
of the purchaser, upon such terms as the court may direct,
and in such case if the proceeds of the resale, after pay-
ment of the expenses thereof and of all costs of proceeding
shall not be equal to the payment of the purchase money
originally laid therefor, the said court may order and direct
the difference to be paid by the said purchaser.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the several county courts
as courts of equity, shall have and exercise all the powers
which are by this act vested in the court of chancery.
