CHAPTER 208.

CHAP. 210.

An act giving power to the Commissioners for Talbot Coun-
ty, to appoint annually a Collector of Direct Taxes in
said County.

Passed March
5, 1842.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners for Talbot county, be and
they are hereby empowered, should they deem it necessary,
to appoint in the month of August, and annually thereafter,
a collector, whose duty it shall be to collect such taxes as
may be levied under the act of March session, eighteen
hundred and forty-one, chapter twenty-three, and its several

supplements; provided, that nothing herein contained shall
apply to the county collector, in the discharge of duties now
required of him by existing enactments, except so far as the
repeal of any part of the law of March session, eighteen
hundred and forty-one, chapter twenty-three, may be ne-
cessary to carry this act into effect.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any law or parts of any
law conflicting with the first section of this act, be and the
same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 209.

 

An act to divorce Julia A. Stuart, of Worcester County,
from her husband John W. Stuart.

Passed March
5, 1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Julia A. Stuart, be and she is hereby divorced from
her husband John W. Stuart, a vinculo matrimonii, and that
the said Julia A. Stuart, be and she is hereby authorized to
assume and use her maiden name Julia A. Powell.

CHAPTER 210.

 

An act to divorce Martha Tileston, of the City of Balti-
more, from her husband William Tileston, and to grant
the Guardianship of her Children.

Passed March
5, 1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Martha Tileston, be and she is hereby divorced from
her husband William Tileston, a vinculo matrimonii, and
the said Martha Tileston, be and she is hereby constituted
