LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 101.

statement of the amount of property, real and personal, be-
longing to the said corporation, and of the debts due to
and from the said corporation, and the purposes for which
disbursements shall have been made; and shall also have
the right to authorise one or more persons to inspect such
general accounts in the, books of the corporation as shall
relate to such statements.

Right to repeal.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
of Maryland reserves the right to change, alter or annul
this act of incorporation at any time.

CHAPTER 101.

1841.

Preamble.

An act for the relief and benefit of Harriet Lydia Stover.

WHEREAS, it is manifest from the petition of Harriet
Lydia Stover, that she and her husband Solomon Stover,
cannot live together in peace and harmony, as becometh
husband and wife — therefore,

Divorced.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Harriet Lydia Stover, be and she is here-
by divorced, a mensa et thoro, from her husband Solomon
Stover; and the said Solomon Stover, shall have no more
control or authority over the said Harriet, than if they had
never been married.

He shall not
have an interest
in any property
acquired by her.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Solomon
Stover shall not, by virtue of his marriage with the said
Harriet, have or claim any right or interest in any estate,
real, personal or mixed, which the said Harriet may ac-
quire or be entitled to, by purchase, descent or other-
wise.

Nor she have
an interest in
any properly he
may acquire.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Harriet shall
not be entitled to any property of the said Solomon, that
he may acquire after the passage of this act; but any pro-
perty so acquired, or to which he may be entitled, in case
he shall die intestate, shall descend to and be distributed
among his children, by the said Harriet, in the same form
and manner as if this a act had not passed.

Shall enjoy the
rights of a feme
sole.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Harriet Lydia
Stover shall have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of
a feme sole; and she may sue and be sued, and hold pro-
perty, both real, personal and mixed, in the same form and
manner as if she had never been married; provided always,
that this act shall not be understood or construed to autho-
