to an allowance from said county of thirty dollars for every
wolf, beyond the age of six months at the time of its being
so killed or destroyed; of twelve dollars for every wolf un-
der the age of six months at the time of its being so killed
or destroyed; and of five dollars for every panther so killed
or destroyed, and of one dollar for every fox, beyond the
age of six months at the time of its being so killed or de-
stroyed, and of fifty cents for every fox, under the age of
six months, so killed or destroyed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in order to the obtention
of such allowance, it shall be necessary for the person so
killing or destroying any wolf, panther or fox, within the
limits of Allegany county, to produce the head of the same,
before some justice of the peace for said county, and at the
time of producing the head of the same, to make oath or
affirmation, that the said wolf, panther or fox, was taken
and killed within the limits of Allegany county, within six
days next before the production of said head before the
said justice; and the said justice shall thereupon give to the
person producing it, a certificate that such head was pro-
duced before him, wherein he shall set forth the abovemen-
tioned oath or affirmation, taken before him at the time of
its production; and if it be a wolf's head, or a fox's head,
it shall be the duty of said justice to determine whether said
wolf or fox, was at the time of its destruction, above or
under the age of six months; and if above the age of six
months, to also state in his certificate that the head produ-
ced was the head of an old wolf or fox; or if under the age
of six months, that it was the head of a young wolf or fox;
and it shall also be the duty of said justice, at the time of
giving said certificate, to destroy any such head so produ-
ced, so as to prevent any second allowance, therefor.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That upon the production of
any said certificate, the commissioners of Allegany county
shall be, and they are hereby authorised and required to le-
vy upon the assessable property of said county, the above-
mentioned allowance of thirty dollars for every old wolf,
twelve dollars for every young wolf, five dollars for every
panther, one dollar for every old fox, and fifty cents for eve-
ry young fox, for the use of the person producing the same;
and that it shall be the duty of the collector of said county,
in whose hands the said levy may be placed, to collect and
pay over the same to the person entitled, in the same man-
ner as other public dues are collected and paid over; and
the party shall have the same remedy for the recovery of
