CHAPTER 46.

Passed Feb. 8,
1841.

An act to extend the time in which William R. Trippe,
former Collector for Talbot, should have completed hit
collections.

Time extended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the time fixed by law in which William
R. Trippe, former collector for Talbot, should have com-
pleted his collections, be and the same is hereby extended
to the first day of December, in the year eighteen hundred
and forty-three.

Inconsistent
acts repealed.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That all acts inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, arc hereby repealed,

CHAPTER 47.

1841.

An act to regulate the compensation of Witnesses attend-
ing the County Courts of Talbot County.

To receive 75
cents per day.

And 5 cents
mileage.

How levied, &c.

Mileage for at-
tendance.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this law,
each and every witness hereafter to be summoned to attend
the county courts of Talbot county, shall be entitled to re-
ceive for each day in which he or she shall attend as a wit-
ness, the sum of seventy-five cents, and in addition thereto
an allowance of five cents per mile for every mile that his
or her place of residence shall be distant from the place of
holding the county courts of Talbot county, and to be le-
vied, collected and paid in the same manner, and at the
same time, with his or her per diem allowance; and he or
she shall be entitled to receive mileage for each and every
day such witness shall attend said court.

Application.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the provisions of this
act shall be construed to apply only to witnesses residing
within the limits of Talbot county, whose county courts
such witness or witnesses shall be summoned to attend.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the clerk of the county court of Talbot county to make
out and report a list of the witnesses summoned to attend
said court, with the distance each witness resides from the
place of holding said county court, to the commissioners of
the tax for said county, to enable them to make the levy
