1841.

the provisions of an act of Assembly of Maryland, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and forty, which was
enacted and ordained, under and in virtue of an act of As-
sembly of Maryland, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and forty, entitled an act to authorise the May or
and City Council of Baltimore to license wood hucksters
in the City of Baltimore, and from the provisions of said act
of Assembly.

CHAP. 28.



SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, shall have full power to exempt or
such conditions as they may deem proper, any of the pri-
vate wharves, or part of any private wharf in the City of
Baltimore, from the operation of the provisions of the act of
Assembly to which this is a supplement, whenever the said
Mayor and City Council may deem the interest of the peo-
ple require such exemption.

CHAPTER 28.

An act providing for the payment of the Cost of certain
alterations in Baltimore County Court Rooms.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the judges of Baltimore county court, be and they
are hereby authorised and required to ascertain the amount
now due, and to whom due for titling up the room adjacent
to Baltimore county court room, for the reception of the
library, provided for the use of Baltimore city and county

court and bar, and that the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore be, and they are hereby authorised and required at
their next assessment, to levy three-fifths of the amount so
ascertained, upon the assessable property of Baltimore city;

provided, the payment of the remaining two-fifths be made,
or secured to the satisfaction of the person or persons to
whom such amounts are respectively due by the library
company of the Baltimore bar, and that the sum so assessed
shall be collected and paid over to the person or persons
entitled to the same as other city levies are.
