RECESS

At 10:55 o'clock A. M. on motion of Mr. Turnbull, the Senate took a
recess until 12:00 o'clock Noon.

AFTER RECESS

At 12:00 Noon the Senate resumed its session.

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION

Senate Resolution No. 3—By Senator Cole:

Senate Resolution welcoming to the State of Maryland His Excellency,
Kwame Nkrumah, Prime Minister of the Republic of Ghana.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules.

REPORT OF RULES COMMITTEE

Senator Phipps, asked that the rules be suspended in order to report
the following resolution and two-thirds of the Senators-elect, voting in the
affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and nays as follows:

Senate Resolution No. 2—By Senator Phipps:

Senate Resolution requesting the Board of Public Works to open
for public use on Saturdays and Sundays the State-owned parking
lot on the north side of Bladen Street in Annapolis.

WHEREAS, The State of Maryland owns a parking lot on the north
side of Bladen Street in Annapolis, which is used on working days
from Monday through Friday for the convenience of State em-
ployees; and

WHEREAS, The parking lot is unused on Saturdays and Sundays
and is closed on those two days; and
