over $12, 000 received from the State Incentive Fund is not
sufficient to pay the interest on said notes and/or bonds and
the principal thereof, then the said County Commissioners
shall pay the deficit thereof out of the General Funds of the
County or shall levy sufficient taxes to pay said deficit. Any
taxes which may be levied under this Act shall be collected in
the same manner as other taxes are levied and collected in
said County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 400
(House Bill 579)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
72D of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "Clerks of
Circuit Courts", relating to the compensation of the Land
Office Clerk.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 72D of Article 17 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-
title "Clerks of Circuit Courts", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

72D. The Commissioner of the Land Office shall also collect
by photographic process, known as Micro film, all plats in
any of the Clerks Offices or any other department of city or
county where such plats would affect title to land, that have
been heretofore filed in said office before June 1, 1945, and
shall also furnish the said Clerks with a copy of such film.
There shall be a new Clerk appointed by the said Commissioner
of the Land Office to do or supervise this work who shall
receive such salary as may be provided in the Budget, and
the sum of |6, 000*. 00 shall be included in the State Budget
for the purchase of equipment, supplies, and expenses for the
preservation of the State's vital records. Nothing in Sections
72A, 72B, 72C and 72D shall apply to Allegany, Harford,
Montgomery, Prince George's, Dorchester and Talbot Counties.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
