(Senate Bill 61)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
55(a) of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Birds, Game and Inland Water
Fish, " sub-title "Susquehanna Flats, " making it unlawful
to hunt or shoot water fowl over the Susquehanna Flats
from a blind erected on or off the island known as the
Battery.
SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 55(a) of Article 99 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Birds, Game
and Inland Water Fish, " sub-title "Susquehanna Flats, " be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
55. (Sneak Boat Only Permitted. ) (a). It shall be un-
lawful at any time, either in the day or night, to hunt, pur-
sue, shoot, or kill any wild water fowl in or over the Flats
from any craft of any kind or from a blind erected on or off
the island known as the Battery except a gunning rig as de-
fined by law and from a stationary blind, and then only
after the same has been licensed as provided by law. If any
person or persons shall have in his or their possession a
boat of less dimensions than provided by law on the Susque-
hanna Flats between the first day of November and the first
day of February following, this fact shall be prima facie
evidence of a violation of this sub-title; provided, however,
boats of smaller dimensions may be used in stationary booby
or brush blinds as provided by law.
SEC. 2. And be it -further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
