prisonment for violating ordinances of the City of Annap-
olis.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 48 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1947
Edition), sub-title "Annapolis", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
48. No ordinance of the Corporation shall impose a fine of
more than One Hundred Dollars (f 100. 00) or more than
ninety (90) days in jail or both in the discretion of the Mayor
and Aldermen.
SEC. 2, And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 4
of Chapter 25 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, passed at its Extraordinary Session of November,
1947, so as to enable the Board of Education of Anne
Arundel County to fund or refund at maturity from the
proceeds of bonds issued pursuant to the authority of said
Chapter 25 all or any part of the principal of any short
term note issued by said Board of Education of Anne
Arundel County pursuant to the authority of Chapter 434
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at
its January Session in the year 1947, instead of the renew-
able portion of any such notes only, to the end that the
financing by said Board of Education of its school con-
struction program may be placed on a sound fiscal basis.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 4 of Chapter 25 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at its Extraordinary Session
in the month of November, 1947, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
4. That the money so borrowed, for the public school or
schools described in said resolution above required, in evi-
dence of which any such bonds shall be issued, shall be used
