838 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 348

Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "Roads", said section having been
amended by Chapter 557 of the Acts of 1947, relating to the
powers of the County Roads Board of Dorchester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (b) of Section 454 of Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Dorchester County", sub-title "Roads", said section having
been amended by Chapter 557 of the Acts of 1947, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

454.

(b) The said County Roads Board is authorized and em-
powered to employ such other personnel and fix their salaries
as it deems necessary to carry put the provisions of this sub-
title, subject to the provisions of Section 455A of this Article,
as amended by Chapter 616 of the Acts of 1943, or any future
amendment thereof.

SEC. 2. And ~be< it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 348
(House Bill 367)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
to be known as Section 148B, and to follow immediately
after Section 148A, relating to working prisoners who have
been sentenced to the Washington County Jail.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland Q930 Edi-
tion), title "Washington County"', sub-title "County Com-
missioners", to be known as Section 148B, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 148A, and to read as follows:

148B. The County Commissioners are authorized to em-
power the Sheriff of Washington County to work, for any
