by the county commissioners to certain charitable institu-
tions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 98 of Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", as enacted by
Chapter 10 of the Acts of 1947, Extraordinary Session, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

98. The County Commissioners of Allegany County are
authorized to levy annually and collect from the assessable
property in Allegany County, as other taxes are levied and
collected, a sum not to exceed $5, 000. Of this sum at least
$1, 000 is to be paid to the Allegany County League for
Crippled Children. The balance, if any, provided the total
amount expended under this section does not exceed $5, 000,
may be levied and paid in the discretion of the County Com-
missioners in whatever proportion they see fit, to the Alle-
gany County League for Crippled Children, the Community
Chest of the City of Cumberland, the American Red Cross,
the Allegany County Cancer Society of the Maryland Divi-
sion of the American Cancer Society, and the Allegany
County Rheumatic Fever and Heart Association.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 342

(House Bill 282)

AN ACT to add two additional areas to the Washington
Suburban Sanitary District.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the two areas herein described are hereby added
to the Washington Suburban Sanitary District created by
Chapter 122 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1918:

(a) All of that tract in the Cabin John Area within the
following metes and bounds:

Beginning for the same at a point on the Maryland-Vir-
ginia Boundary Line where the prolongation of the east,
