SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 1 to 9, both inclusive, *of Article 44 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition and 1947 Supple-
ment), title "Hospitals—Maryland", sub-title "Spring Grove
State Hospital", and Sections 10, 12 and 13 of said Article
and title, sub-title "Springfield State Hospital", be and the
same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1947 Edition), title
"Anne Arundel County, " said sections to be under a
new sub-title "Taxicabs, " and to be known as Sections
565A-565C, inclusive, relating to the regulation of taxi-
cabs in said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That three new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1947 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, " said sections
to be under a new sub-title "Taxis, " and to be known as
Sections 565A-565C, inclusive, and to read as follows:

565A. The term "Taxicabs" as used in this sub-title
shall embrace any motor vehicle for hire designed to carry
seven persons or less, including the driver, operated upon
any street or public highway in Anne Arundel County or,
on call or on demand, accepting or soliciting passengers
indiscriminately for transportation for hire between such
points along public streets or highways in Anne Arundel
County, as may be directed by the passenger or passengers
so being transported; provided that nothing in this sub-
title shall be construed to include as a taxicab a motor
vehicle operated with the approval of the Public Service
Commission of Maryland, on fixed routes and schedules.
