of the State for examination of the offenses alleged against
him; and such Magistrate, judge, or court shall proceed
in respect thereto as authorized by law in cases of crimes
against the State of Maryland.
(d) Whenever any person, or ship is accused of violat-
ing the provisions of this section, it shall be the duty of the
arresting officer to notify the Commission forthwith in
writing, for the purpose of permitting the Commission to
take any steps in the proceeding that it may deem advis-
able. The provisions of this sub-section are intended to be
directory only.
(e) Other Statutes for Preservation and Protection of
Waters of the State of Maryland Un-Affected. This sec-
tion shall be in addition to the laws existing prior to June
1, 1949, for the preservation and protection of waters of
the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries and shall not be
construed as repealing, modifying, or in any manner affect-
ing the provisions of those laws.
SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 26 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Courts",
sub-title "Circuit Courts for the Counties", said new
section to be known as Section 42A and to follow
immediately after Section 42 of said Article, relating
to bail furnished by the accused.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition),
title "Courts", sub-title "Circuit Courts for the Counties",
said new section to be known as Section 42A and to fol-
low immediately after Section 42 of said Article and to
read as follows;
42A. Any person having power to admit to bail under
the provisions of Section 42 of this sub-title or Section 13
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
