County. No Volunteer Fire Company shall be organized
in the City of Annapolis without the approval of the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 232
(Senate Bill 263)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 33 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Elec-
tions", sub-title, "Registrations", said new section to be
known as Section 13B and to follow immediately after
Section 13A of said Article (Section 13A having been
added by Chapter 56 of the Acts of the Special Session of
1948), to authorize and direct the Board of Supervisors
of Elections of Harford County to adopt registration
books consisting of cards or loose-leaf pages.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
title "Elections", sub-title "Registration", said new section
to be known as Section 13B and to follow immediately after
Section 13A of said Article (Section 13A having been added
by Chapter 56 of the Acts of the Special Session of 1948),
and to read as follows

13 B. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Har-
ford County is hereby authorized and directed to rewrite
the registration books of Harford County and such new
registration books shall consist of cards or loose-leaf pages
bound in locked binders to be provided by said Board. The
names of all persons now registered shall be transcribed,
except those of persons known to the Supervisors to have
died, removed or become disqualified; provided that no liv-
ing voter's name shall be stricken from the registration
lists unless a notice of such action and the reason therefor
be sent to the last known address of such voter.

The said Board is hereby further directed to complete
the rewriting and transcribing of said registration books on
or before June 1, 1950, after which date the provisions of
Section 13A and all other provisions of this article relating
