the power and authority in law with which his predecessor
was clothed for that purpose, and in such case the bond
of the newly appointed succeeding Town Manager of Prin-
cess Anne shall become responsible for the proper collec-
tion of such taxes, and the bond of the preceding Town
Manager of Princess Anne shall be held responsible for
such taxes as remain uncollected from fault or negligence
of his own.

317V. In the event the bond of the Town Manager of
Princess Anne shall become liable to the President and
Commissioners of Princess Anne for any unpaid or uncol-
lected taxes, the sureties on said bonds shall be empowered
to enforce the payment of said taxes in the same manner
as the said Town Manager of Princess Anne could have
done.

317W. The Town Manager of Princess Anne shall be
subject to removal from office by a majority vote of the
President and Commissioners for any reason whatsoever.
The action of the President and Commissioners in remov-
ing the Town Manager from office shall be final.

317X. The President and Commissioners of Princess
Anne shall appoint and furnish the Town Manager of
Princess Anne an office in a suitable place, and provide the
necessary furniture, fuel, janitor, and fire protection for
the records and books, and whatever other necessary ex-
penses said Town Manager of Princess Anne may neces-
sarily incur in the performance of his official duties.

317Y. The said Town Manager of Princess Anne shall,
in conjunction with the said President and Commissioners
of Princess Anne, at least once in every year, and more
often, if necessary, compare and copy the assessments and
transfers of the town property from the County assessment
and transfer records as much like the County and State
Records as is possible, and shall adopt said assessments
and transfers as the town's basis for levying the town tax.

317Z. The provisions of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland now in force or hereafter enacted ap-
plicable to the collection of State and County taxes, except
when the same are repealed by or are inconsistent with the
provisions of this Act, shall be held to apply to the Town
Manager of Princess Anne, who, as to power, rights,
duties, and liabilities, both civil and criminal, and those
affecting his bondsmen shall be in all respects in the same
position as State and County Collectors of taxes, except
as herein provided.
