747. A Judge of the People's Court shall not take super-
sedeas of any judgment other than of a judgment of a Judge
of said court.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 213

(Senate Bill 120)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
716B of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition),
title "Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court", as said
section was amended by Chapter 969 of the Acts of 1943,
correcting an error in section references.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 716B of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court",
as said section was amended by Chapter 969 of the Acts of
1943, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

716B. The People's Court of Baltimore City shall have
exclusive original jurisdiction at law in all civil cases arising
in Baltimore City over which Justices of the Peace had juris-
diction prior to May 5, 1941, including all cases in said City
for the enforcement of contracts and to obtain redress for
wrongs, where the debt or damages claimed shall not exceed
$100; to all suits on bonds with penalty exceeding f 100 where
the sum due and claimed does not exceed $100; to actions of
replevin where the value of the thing in controversy does not
exceed $100; and to all cases of attachment in any of the
cases mentioned in Section 36 of Article 9 where the sum
claimed shall not exceed $100; and in all cases arising under
Sections 750 to 755%, inclusive, of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
