People's Court of said City. Each of said Judges shall
devote to his duties as Judge a regular session, from
9. 30 A. M. until 4 P. M. on every day except Sundays and
legal holidays and Saturday afternoons after 12. 30 P. M., and
such other sessions at such times as the Chief Judge deems
necessary or advisable, during such eleven months in each
year as the Chief Judge shall assign. No Judge of the
People's Court shall engage in the practice of law while hold-
ing the position of Judge. The Chief Judge shall make such
assignments in such manner as to provide such regular ses-
sions for the transaction of business, and such other sessions
as he shall prescribe, throughout the entire year. All such
sessions shall be held at such place as the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore City shall provide.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 210

(Senate Bill 117)

AN ACT to repeal and. re-enact, with amendments, Section
716L of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court", as said section
was amended by Chapter 121 of the Acts of 1945, authoriz-
ing appeal from refusal of Judge to strike out judgment.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 716L of Article 4 of. the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938
Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court",
as said section was amended by Chapter 121 of the Acts of
1945, be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

716L. Within thirty days after the entry of any judgment
in the People's Court on any confessed judgment note, any
Judge may, in his discretion, strike out said judgment upon
such terms and conditions including a trial on the merits, as
the Court may direct. Within thirty days after the entry of
any order or judgment in the People's Court, other than
those on confessed judgment notes, any Judge may, in his
discretion, strike out such order or judgment upon proof of
