CHAPTER 43
(Senate Bill 51)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2
of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Conveyancing", sub-title "Conveyances in
General", relating to the redemption of ground rents by
women over eighteen years of age.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2 of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Conveyancing", sub-title
"Conveyances in General", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
2. Any woman over eighteen years of age is hereby author-
ized to transfer and convey her interest in the title to the
fee and reversion in the land out of which any redeemable
ground rent issues in the same manner and to the same ex-
tent as a person of the full age of twenty-one years in every
instance where the owner of the leasehold interest has given
the proper notice to redeem.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
275 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Corporations", sub-title "Religious Cor-
porations", increasing the number of trustees which a re-
ligious corporation may have.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 275 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Corporations", sub-title
"Religious Corporations", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
275. In every church, religious society or congregation, of
whatever sect, order or denomination, or which shall at any
