(c) |250, 000. 00 shall be invested in United States Certifi-
cates of Deposit with the Liberty Trust Company of Cumber-
land, Maryland.

(d) $250, 000. 00 shall be placed in a checking account with
the said First National Bank.

(e) f250, 000. 00 shall be placed in a checking account with
the said Liberty Trust Company.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall
take effect from the date of the passage.

CHAPTER 188
(House Bill 646)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
236 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County, 1943 edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 285 of
the Acts of 1937, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Court Stenographer" providing for the appointment of
not less than one nor more than two official court stenog-
raphers for the Circuit Court of Prince George's County,
and increasing the compensation to be paid such stenog-
raphers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 236 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, 1943 Edition, being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, as the same was
enacted by Chapter 285 of the Acts of 1937, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Court Stenographer" be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

236. The Judges of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County are hereby authorized and directed to appoint not less
than one nor more than two official court stenographers for
