of such stream or other water course shall be hereby author-
ized.

No such agent, servant or employee shall, when acting
under the authority of this section, damage or destroy any
property or lands entered by them in the performance of their
work.

No owner, occupant or agent of private property or lands
so entered shall obstruct, impede or annoy such agents,
servants or employees in the performance of their work tinder
this section. Any owner, occupant or agent violating the
provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less
than Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00), nor more than One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100. 00), or to imprisonment for not less than
thirty (30) days nor more than sixty (60) days, or both fine
and imprisonment, in the discretion of the Court.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote^ supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 179
(House Bill 351)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
1020 and 1021 of the Code of Prince George's County (1943
Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "Mt. Rainier", sub-headings respectively "Mayor" and
"Councilmen", increasing the salaries of the Mayor and
Councilmen of the town of Mt. Rainier and making this
Act subject to a referendum.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 1020 and 1021 of the Code of Prince
George's County (1943 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "'Mt. Rainier", sub-headings respectively
