(House Bill 129)
AN ACT to add four new sections to the Code of Prince
George's County (1943 Edition—being Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Fire Companies", said new
sections to be known as Sections 605F-605-I, inclusive, and
to follow immediately after Section 605E of said Article
as enacted by Chapter 808 of the Acts of 1947, relating to
the levy of a special fire tax in a certain portion of the
Second Precinct of the 19th Election District of Prince
George's County, and providing for a referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That four new sections be and they are hereby added to
the Code of Prince George's County (1943 Edition—being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Fire Companies",
said new sections to be known as Sections 605F-605-I, inclu-
sive, to follow immediately after Section 605E of said Article,
as enacted by Chapter 808 of the Acts of 1947, and all to read
as follows:
605F. (a) The provisions of this section shall apply to and
be effective in the Second Precinct of the 19th Election Dis-
trict of Prince George's County with the exception of that
portion of the Second Precinct of said 19th Election District
which is within the corporate limits of the Town of Riverdale
June 1, 1949.
(b) The County Commissioners of Prince George's County
are hereby authorized and directed to levy for the year 1950
and annually thereafter a fire tax of ten cents on every One
Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) of the assessed value of all real
and personal property located in the Second Precinct of the
19th Election District with the exception of that portion of
said precinct of said election district which is within the
corporate limits of! the Town of Riverdale on June 1, 1949.
(c) The said fire tax shall be levied and collected in the
same manner as other State and County taxes are now levied
and collected.
(d) The proceeds of said fire tax shall be paid by the County
Commissioners semi-annually on June 30 and December 31
of each year to The Riverdale Heights Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, Inc.
