fourteen (14) machinists; one (1) printer; twenty-four
(24) turnkeys; twenty-five (25) signal and telephone opera-
tors; eight (8) station-house clerks, and such number of
clerks for duty at police headquarters as may in the judg-
ment of the said Commissioner be necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect January 1, 1950.

CHAPTER 137

(House Bill 95)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 66 1/2 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Motor
Vehicles", said new section to be known as Section 226A,
to follow immediately after Section 226 of said Article,
and to be under the sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon
Highways", prohibiting the use of a motor vehicle in Mary-
land which is equipped with any type of television projector
within the normal view of the operator.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
title "Motor Vehicles", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 227A, to follow immediately after Section 226 of said
Article, to be under sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon
Highways", and to read as follows:

226A. No motor vehicle may be operated in Maryland which
is equipped with any type of television projector, or any such
visual screen or projector upon which moving images may be
shown or projected, if such screen or projector is within the
normal view of the operator thereof. Nothing in this section
shall be construed to prohibit the use of a motor vehicle
equipped with such a screen or projector so located as not to
be within the normal view of the operator thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
