SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-
title "Department of Legislative Reference", said new section
to be known as Section 100A, to follow immediately after
Section 100 of said Article, and to read as follows:

100A. The Director of the Department of Legislative
Reference, in his capacity as Executive Officer of that Depart-
ment and in his capacity as Secretary and Director of Research
of the Legislative Council, shall be deemed an appointed
official within the meaning of Section 7 of Article 73B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), and any
amendments thereto, and shall be treated as such for all pur-
poses of said Article 73B.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 20

(House Bill 83)

AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly to the deed from Walter E. Sinn, et al. to the
Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rocky Hill, Fred-
erick County.

WHEREAS,, it is desired to secure a loan on the property
purchased by the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church on
June 26, 1946,; and

WHEREAS, the loan cannot be secured until the purchase of
the property has been sanctioned by the General Assembly;
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sanction and consent of the General Assembly
of Maryland be and it is hereby declared, given and granted
to the deed from Walter E. Sinn, et al. to the Grace Evangeli-
cal Lutheran Church of Rocky Hill, Frederick County, said
deed being recorded in Liber No. 455, folio 173, of the Land
Records of Frederick County.
