To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an election held in
the Town of Fairmount Heights, Maryland, on Monday, June
7, 1948, an Act known as Chapter 857 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1947, was submitted to the voters of Fair-
mount Heights, for their adoption or rejection under the pro-
vision thereof, said Act being:
"An Act authorizing the Mayor and Common Council of
Fairmount Heights to borrow $75, 000 for the purpose
of constructing or improving roadways, streets, alleys,
curbs, sidewalks or gutters for said town, and to issue
bonds therefor and to make assessments and to levy
taxes to pay the principal and interest of said bonds. "
AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 92 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 857 of the Acts of the
Session of 1947, and 93 votes were cast against the adoption
of said Act, and a majority being cast against the adoption
of the said referred law, it has therefore failed of ratification.
