chase is approved by the State Board of Health, and
requires authority to consummate said purchase and
finance the same.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That, in the event the corporate limits of the Town are
extended by Act of the General Assembly of Maryland to
include the sub-division in Montgomery County imme-
diately to the southeast of the Town, known as Twin
Brook, the Town is hereby authorized and empowered,
upon the conditions hereinafter set forth, to enter into
negotiations for the acquisition of, and to acquire, from
the actual owner or owners thereof, whether corporate
or individual, the water supply system, the sewerage sys-
tem and the sewage disposal plant now installed and in
operation in or adjacent to said sub-division within said
corporate limits as extended. For the purposes of this
Act, the term "water supply system" shall include all
wells, pumps, machinery, feeder mains, tools, motor vehi-
cles, mechanical equipment, whether affixed or detached
from the land, real estate and the improvements thereon,
easements and rights of way, supplies, pipe, and all equip-
ment, whether in place or available for installation, which
comprise the operating water supply system of the Twin
Brook sub-division. For the purposes of this Act, the term
"sewerage system" shall include all trunk sewers presently
installed in the area adjacent to said sub-division of Twin
Brook, the easements or rights of way therefor, or for
any extensions or enlargements thereof, all surplus or
standby equipment or supplies currently being used in the
operation thereof, all lines connecting to the existing sew-
age disposal plant, all trunk line manholes and generally
all tangible personal property in use in the operation of
the sewerage system in Twin Brook and the area adjacent
thereto at the time of the consummation of the purchase
hereby authorized. For the purposes of this Act, the term
"sewage disposal plant" shall include the present sewage
treatment plant located in or adjacent to said sub-division
on or near the shore of Rock Creek, including all trunks
entering or leaving the same, all sewage treatment facili-
ties located therein, the settling and areating basins
attached thereto, the real estate upon which the same is
located together with the structure housing said plant and
all equipment, tools, supplies, engines, motors, fuel or
other material being used in the operation of said plant at
the time of the consummation of its purchase. None of the
foregoing definitions shall include any item of property
to be purchased or installed by the Town under any pro-
gram undertaken by it pursuant to the authority of Sec-
