1916 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

land, copies of this resolution to the President of the United
States, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the
President Pro Tempore of the Senate, the Chairman of the
Armed Services Committees of the Congress, and Members of
the Maryland Delegation in Congress.

(Senate Joint Resolution 12)

Joint Resolution authorizing and directing the State Roads
Commission to make a re-survey of a certain public high-
way in Worcester County and further authorizing the State
Roads Commission, if said re-survey discloses the public
highway in said County is not properly located, that an
equitable adjustment be made by the State Roads Com-
mission to correct the inequities that were caused by the
improper placing of the public highway.

WHEREAS, the State Roads Commission of Maryland con-
structed a highway from Ocean City to the Delaware-Mary-
land Line along the Atlantic seaboard; and

WHEREAS, the highway crossed certain property originally
owned by Captain W. B. S. Powell and now owned by Mrs.
Mayne A. Collins and others; and

WHEREAS, under date of September 2, 1938, an agreement
was entered into by and between the State Roads Commis-
sion and Lewis C. Merryman, trustee which is recorded in
the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Worcester
County, under the terms of which the State Roads Commis-
sion was given the authority to enter upon the said property
originally owned by Captain W. B. S. Powell and now own-
ed by Mrs. Mayne A. Collins and others for the purpose of
constructing a public highway between the northernmost
boundary of the corporate limits of 'Ocean City to the Dela-
ware-Maryland Line. And said agreement further provided
that the State Roads Commission should conduct a survey
to determine the proper location of said public highway and
provided further for a method of settling the differences if
said public highway was constructed in an improper loca-
tion; and
