the mouth of said Weems Creek; thence still northeasterly
and with the waters of Severn River approximately 1300 feet
to a point distant north 31, 400 feet, east 24, 000 feet from the
aforementioned origin of co-ordinates; thence with the waters
of the Severn River southeasterly approximately 15, 000 feet
to a point distant north 19, 500 feet east 33, 000 feet from the
aforementioned origin of coordinates, then still with the
waters of Severn River south 71° 28' 40" west 2700. 9 feet
to the concrete monument at the place of beginning; con-
taining 5. 57 square miles of land more or less. Bearings are
referred to the true meridian at the origin of coordinates.
87. The members of said Commission shall be a body
corporate, by the name of the "Annapolis Metropolitan
Sewerage Commission", with the right to use a common seal,
to sue and be sued, and to do any and all other corporate
acts for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this
sub-title. Whenever it shall be deemed necessary by said
Commission to take or acquire any land, structures or build-
ings, or any stream bed, waterway, water rights or water
shed, either in fee or as an easement, within or outside the
Annapolis Metropolitan Sewerage District, for the construc-
tion, extension or maintenance of any sewer, or appurtenance
thereof, or for any sewage treatment plant, tank or pumping
station, or for the execution by the Commission of any other
power or function vested in it by legislative authority, said
Commission may purchase the same from the owner or
owners thereof, or failing to agree with them, may condemn
the same by proceedings in the Circuit Court for Anne
Arundel County as now provided for condemnation of land
by public service corporations, in Article 33A of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland; and said Commission may
at the same time condemn the interest of any tenant, lessee
or other person having an interest in said land. At any
time after ten days after the return and recordation of the
verdict or award in said proceeding, the said Commission
may enter and take possession of said property so condemned,
upon first paying to the Clerk of the Court the amount of
said award and all costs taxed to date, notwithstanding any
appeal or further proceeding upon the part of the defendant;
at the time of said payment, however, it shall give its corpo-
rate undertaking to abide by and fulfill any judgment on such
appeal or further proceedings.
88. As soon after organization as possible, this Commit
sion shall cause surveys, plans, specifications and estimates
to be made for sewerage and drainage systems, and treat-
ment works of all types, within or outside said Sewerage
