74BA. Any tax monies paid to Montgomery County under
the provisions of this sub-title which have been collected
from a place of amusement located outside of an incorpo-
rated town or taxing area and in that portion of the Potomac
Election District and the Bethesda Election District lying
within the confines of the Montgomery County Suburban
District as created by Chapter 459 of the Acts of 1931 and
the amendments thereof, shall be expended by the County
Council in that area; and any tax monies so collected from
a place of amusement located outside of an incorporated
town or taxing area and in that portion of the Wheaton
Election District and the Colesville Election District lying
within the confines of said Montgomery County Suburban
District shall be expended by the County Council in that
area.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 744
(House Bill 573)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
16 of Article 78B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Racing Commission", relating to the
taxes to be paid by half-mile tracks..

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 16 of Article 78B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Racing Commission",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

16. In addition to all fees, premiums, taxes or other pay-
ments required by law, each licensee under the provisions of
the preceding section shall pay to the Racing Commission for
the use of the State, within five days after the close of the
last meeting held during the year 1947 and during each calen-
dar year thereafter, an annual tax at the rate of 1% on all
money wagered over $500, 000 and not over $1, 000, 000 on all
such races conducted by it during each such year, and 2% on
all money wagered over $1, 000, 000 and not over $1, 500, 000 on
all such races conducted by it during each such year and 4%
on all money wagered over and above the sum of $1, 500, 000, on
