Section 43 in lieu thereof, said new sub-section to stand
in the place of the sub-section so repealed, relating to fish-
ing with haul seines in that part of the Potomac River
opposite St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sub-section (a) of Section 43 of Article 39 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Fish and
Fisheries", sub-title "Further Regulations in County Waters",
be and it is hereby repealed, and that a new Sub-section (a)
of said Section 43 be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu
thereof, said new sub-section to stand in the place of the sub-
section so repealed, and to read as follows:

43. (St. Mary's County. ) (a) The length of haul seines
which may be used within one mile of the Maryland shore in
that portion of the Potomac River between Cobb's Point in
Charles County and Point Lookout in St. Mary's County,
shall be fixed by regulations promulgated by the Department
of Tidewater Fisheries, agreeably to the length of haul seines
being used from time to time by residents of the State of
Virginia in said waters.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure, and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Allegany
County to contribute to the Board of Governors of the
Memorial Hospital of Cumberland, a body politic and cor-
porate of the State of Maryland, the sum of Thirty Thou-
sand Dollars ($30, 000) in order to finance the construction
of a contagious diseases unit; to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Allegany County to provide
said contribution by borrowing upon the faith and credit of
said county not exceeding the sum of Thirty Thousand
Dollars ($30, 000), and to issue therefor coupon bonds in
