Baltimore City, thereby making this section unnecessary; now
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 432 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Criminal Court of
Baltimore", be and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 17

(House Bill 30)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
113 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Boxing, Sparring and
Wrestling", relating to the salary of the Secretary of the
State Athletic Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 113 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Boxing,
Sparring and Wresting", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

113. The Commission shall appoint, and at pleasure remove,
a secretary to the Commission, whose duty it shall be to keep
a full and true record of all its proceedings, preserve at its
general offices all its books, documents and papers, prepare
for service such notices and other papers as may be required
of him by the Commission, and to perform such other duties
as the Commission may prescribe, and may, under the direc-
tion of the Commission, issue subpoenas for the attendance of
witnesses before the Commission with the same effect as if
they were issued in an action in the courts of this State, and
may, under the direction of the Commission, administer oaths
in all matters pertaining to the duties of his office or con-
nected with the administration of the affairs of the Com-
mission. Disobedience of such a subpoena and false swearing
before such secretary shall be attended by the same conse-
quence and be subject to the same penalties as if such dis-
obedience or false swearing occurred in an action in the courts
