this Act shall not go into effect or become operative in either
Baltimore City or Baltimore County, or both, as the case
may be.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
87F of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (Higinbothom's 1942 Edition), title "Harford
County", sub-title "Assessments", as enacted by Chapter
289 of the Acts of 1943, changing the compensation of
county commissioners for reviewing assessments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by tine General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 87F of Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Higinbothom's 1942 Edition), title
"Harford County", sub-title "Assessments", as enacted by
Chapter 289 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
87F. When said Commissioners meet to review assess-
ments as provided herein, each member thereof shall receive
for such services the sum provided by law in addition to any
other per diem or salary compensation for their office.
The Board of County Commissioners is hereby directed,
authorized and empowered to include in each annual levy
of taxes following March 31, 1943, such sums as may be
necessary to pay the salary and authorized traveling ex-
penses of the members of said Board of Assessment appoint-
ed as aforesaid; the per diem pay to the said Commissioners
when reviewing assessments, and all expenses for forms and
clerical assistance necessary and proper to carry out the pur-
poses of this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
. effect June 1, 1949.
