that the provisions of this sentence shall not be applicable

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Aldermen of Annap-
olis, Maryland, to pay a pension to Mrs. Blanche Curry,
widow of William Curry.

WHEREAS, William Curry faithfully served as Chief of
Police in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, for a number
of years; and

WHEREAS, William Curry died on March 30, 1949; and

WHEREAS, William Curry left as his widow, Mrs.
Blanche Curry, who is now in dire need of financial assist-
ance; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Mayor and Aldermen of Annapolis, Maryland, be
and they are hereby authorized to pay to Mrs. Blanche
Curry, widow of William Curry, the former Chief of
Police of Annapolis, a monthly pension of Sixty Dollars
($60. 00), during her widowhood.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.
