(b). The bodies subject to the provisions of this sub-title
shall be used only for the promotion and application of the
medical sciences.
(c). It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or buy
such body or bodies or any part or parts thereof, or to send
or transport or permit or cause to be sent or transported
such bodies or parts thereof beyond the limits of the State,
but this shall not be construed to prohibit any physician,
teacher, demonstrator or investigator of anatomy with prior
approval and permission of the Anatomy Board from taking
or transporting human specimens outside of the State for
use at scientific or medical meetings, demonstrations or
exhibits.
161D. (a). Any person violating any of the provisions of
this sub-title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction thereof shall be fined not more than $500. 00, or im-
prisoned for not more than one year, or both, in the discre-
tion of the court.
(b). Any public officer of the State or of any political sub-
division of the State or the officer or person of any institution
who shall neglect or refuse to comply with the provisions and
requirements of this sub-title shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not
less than $50. 00 nor more than $100. 00 for each and every
offense.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 175 and
176 of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title
Coroners", and Sections 390 and 391 of Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Coroners, Inquests
and Dead Bodies", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be> it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
