SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Sections
71, 72 and 73 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1939 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and Ad-
ministrative Departments", sub-title "State Manual", relat-
ing to the publishing and distributing of the State Manual.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 71, 72 and 73 of Article 41 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Governor-
Executive and Administrative Departments", sub-title "State
Manual", be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

71. It shall be the duty of the Secretary of State to
publish from time to time a manual of the State of Maryland.

72. Said Manual shall be printed in such number as the
monies provided in the budget therefor will allow and shall
contain a copy of the Constitution of the State, a complete
list of members of the Legislature, with their post office
addresses, the names and addresses of all State and county
officers elected by the people, as well as those appointed by
the Governor and the Board of Public Works, and such other
information as in his judgment is necessary.

73. The said Manual shall be distributed as follows:
Twenty-five copies bound in cloth to the Maryland State
Library; ten copies, two of which shall be bound in cloth, to
each of the members of the Legislature; one copy to each
public or private school or educational institution in the
State of Maryland; fifty copies bound in cloth to the Depart-
ment of Legislative Reference, for exchange with other States;
and the Secretary of State is hereby authorized to make
such further distribution as he deems necessary or desirable.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
