knowingly to permit any person under sixteen years of age
to operate or play any such device.

Any person,, firm or corporation keeping, maintaining or
operating any such machine or device without a license, shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof,
shall be fined One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00). All license
fees collected under the provisions of this section shall be
paid to the County Commissioners of Frederick County, who
shall credit one-half thereof to the general funds of the
county and pay the remaining one-half portion to the Emerg-
ency Hospital of Frederick County, for expenditure on or
for capital improvements.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 660
(House Bill 770)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
324 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title "Dog Licenses in
the Counties", permitting the County Commissioners of
St. Mary's County to determine the fees for dog licenses
in said County and making technical changes in said sec-
tion without changing the substance of the law relating
to dog licenses in Talbot and Carroll Counties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 324 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title
"Dog Licenses in the Counties", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

324. (General Provisions. ) On or before the first day of
July, 1918, and on or before the first day of July of each year
thereafter, the owner of any dog, six months old or over,
shall apply either orally or in writing, to the County Treas-
urer or to the tax collecting officer in said county for a
license for each such dog owned or kept by him, and such
application shall be accompanied by a fee of One Dollar
($1. 00) for each male dog or each spayed female dog, and a
fee of Two Dollars ($2. 00) for each unspayed female dog,
