license of any licensee, on whose premises any gambling de-
vices are found, which are illegal under the laws of the
State of Maryland, or any alcoholic beverage found, other
than beer and wine of legal content.

Whenever any on-sale licensee operates a pool or billiard
parlor on premises licensed hereunder, he shall not permit
minors under 18 years of age to enter into or loiter about
that part of the premises devoted to the playing of pool or
billiards unless accompanied by a parent. A violation of
this prohibition shall empower the said Board in its discre-
tion, to revoke or suspend the license of said on-sale licensee
after a public hearing.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 624
(House Bill 675)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
6 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "General Duties
of Clerks", relating to attendance at office of clerks of
court In Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 6 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-
title "General Duties of Clerks", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

6. Every clerk shall attend at his office for the transac-
tion of the business thereof every day, except Sundays and
legal holidays, either in person or by deputy, unless pre-
vented by sickness, accident or necessity. In Baltimore City,
the Supreme J3ench may at its discretion direct that all
offices of such clerks shall be closed for the transaction of
business on Saturdays.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
