lative body of any incorporated town, city or municipality
may be known) and the Board or Commission having au-
thority or control over any other political sub-division of the
State.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 616
(House Bill 656)

AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg,
Allegany County, to borrow upon the faith and credit of
said town Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25, 000. 00) for
the purpose of municipal swimming pool improvements, to
issue its bonds and/or notes therefor and to levy municipal
taxes to pay the principal and interest of said bonds
and/or notes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Councilmen of Frostburg be and
they are hereby authorized and empowered to borrow at such
time or times as they may decide, upon the faith and credit
of said town, a sum or sums of money not to exceed Twenty-
Five Thousand Dollars ($25, 000. 00) at a rate of interest not
to exceed four per centum (4%) per annum, for the purpose
of extending, improving, constructing and repairing the mu-
nicipal swimming pool and adjacent property owned by said
town, the particular purpose or purposes to be determined by
said Mayor and Councilmen.

SEC. 2. And be it -further enacted, That the said Mayor and
Councilmen are hereby authorized to borrow, under the pro-
visions of this Act, from such bank, banker or trust company,
or from any other source, as they shall from time to time
select. The said Mayor and Councilmen are authorized to
execute and deliver negotiable promissory notes, certificates
of indebtedness, or bonds of the Mayor and Councilmen of
Frostburg, to be signed by the Mayor, with the seal of the
said town affixed thereto, in such denomination or denomina-
tions, payable at such place and at such date or dates as the
said Mayor and Councilmen shall by resolution provide and/or
