1476 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 613

City of Baltimore and in addition, three Justices of the
Peace to be known as Magistrates-at-Large, or such other
number of Justices as may be by law hereafter provided
for, and designated by him as a "Police Magistrate of Balti-
more City" shall receive the sum of Four Thousand Dollars
(14, 000. 00) per annum; all salaries to be paid monthly, so
long as he shall continue to act at a station house in said
City, under the selection of the Governor; which sum of
money shall be paid to him by the City Register at the end
of each month, upon the certificate of the Police Commis-
sioner of Baltimore City, that such service has been rendered
under the appointment of the Governor as aforesaid; and
no Justice of the Peace so selected to sit in a station-house
and designated as either the "Chief Police Magistrate of
Baltimore City", or "Police Magistrate of Baltimore City"
shall be permitted to charge any fee, or receive any gratuity
for granting any release, or for the performance of any duty
required by law.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 613

(House Bill 648)

AN ACT to add two new sections to Article 13 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Harford County",
sub-title "Aberdeen", as enacted by Chapter 908 of the 1943
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland; said new sec-
tions to define the additional powers of the Commissioners
•of Aberdeen in providing a recreation building and facilities,
and the operation thereof, in the Town of Aberdeen; and to
provide further authority to the said Commissioners acting
as the "Taxicab Bureau" of Aberdeen, relative to specifying
and determining the number of taxicabs which may operate
at any one time within said Town and to fix the places of
their operation; said new sections to be known as Section
15A, which is to follow after Section 15; and Section 57A,
which is to follow Section 57.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
the Charter of the Town of Aberdeen, as the same is now codi-
