in said County.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

(House Bill 632)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "State
Roads", sub-title "Duties and Powers", said new section to
be known as Section 44B and to follow immediately after
Section 44A of said Article, relating to the construction of
roads to and within State Parks and recreation areas.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
title "State Roads", sub-title "Duties and Powers", said new
section to be known as Section 44B, to follow immediately
after Section 44A of said Article, and to read as follows:

44B. Whenever the County Commissioners of any county
in which there is a State Park or recreation area shall re-
quest the State Roads Commission to construct county im-
proved highways to and within such park or recreation area
out of any funds paid or allocated to said county or counties
for the construction or maintenance of county roads, it shall
be the duty of the State Roads Commission to construct such
road or roads to the extent such funds are available and
allocated to said county or counties. All roads constructed
by the State Roads Commission under the provisions of this
section shall be maintained by the county; provided, that
nothing in this section shall be construed to apply to or be
effective in Anne Arundel County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.
