SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 550-557, inclusive, of Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " sub-title "Justices of the Peace and
Constables, " be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 798A of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington Coun-
ty, " sub-title "State's Attorney, " said section having
been enacted by Chapter 642 of the Acts of 1943, relat-
ing to the compensation of the stenographer for the
office of the State's Attorney and Criminal Investigator
for Washington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 798A of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County, " sub-title "State's Attorney, " said section having
been enacted by Chapter 642 of the Acts of 1943, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
798A. From and after June 1, 1943, it shall be the duty
of the State's Attorney for Washington County to employ,
subject to the approval of the County Commissioners of
Washington County, a competent person at a salary as set
by the County Commissioners, the person so employed to
be capable of doing the necessary stenographic and clerical
work in the office of the State's Attorney and Criminal In-
vestigator for Washington County, under the direction and
supervision of the said State's Attorney. The County Com-
missioners of Washington County shall pay the salary pro-
vided for under the terms of this section, in weekly install-
ments, to the person so employed by the State's Attorney
for Washington County, and shall levy for the same as
expenses of the State's Attorney's office.
