shall hereafter be constituted so that, if said District is ex-
tended hereafter to include added territory, said Code shall
be effective therein.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That a new section is
hereby added to the Maryland-Washington Regional District
Act, as enacted by Chapter 992 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at its January Session in the
year 1943, said new section to be designated as Section 2-OO,
and to follow immediately after Section 2NN of said Act, and
as the same now appears for convenience of reference as Sec-
tion 763 of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1947 Edition), title "Montgomery County", sub-
title "Maryland-Washington Regional District", and as Sec-
tion 1009 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1943 Edition), title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Maryland-Washington Regional District", and to
read as follows:

2-OO. The Commission is hereby authorized and empow-
ered to exercise any of its powers and functions under this
Act in portions of Montgomery and Prince George's counties
outside the Maryland-Washington Regional District upon the
request of the governmental agency having jurisdiction over
the area to which the said request is applicable, and upon
such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon in each case
between the Commission and the governmental agency making
the request and in accordance with appropriate confirmatory
governmental action by the governmental agency making the
request in each case.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That beginning May 1,
1949, the salaries of the members of the Commission, other
than the Chairman, and the Vice-chairman and Park Commis-
sioner shall be as follows: (a) for the two Commissioners
resident in Montgomery County Twenty-Four Hundred
(|2, 400. 00) Dollars a year payable monthly, and (b) for the
two Commissioners resident in Prince George's County
Twelve Hundred ($1, 200. 00) Dollars a year payable monthly.
Such salaries shall be payable in substitution for, and not in
addition to, the salaries of Commissioners prescribed in Para-
graph II of Section 2 of Chapter 1008 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at its January session in
the year 1943. The salaries of the Chairman, and the Vice-
chairman and Park Commissioner shall remain as fixed in
said Paragraph II but the Chairman of the Commission shall
receive for travel allowance and for additional clerical or
stenographic assistance a sum which shall not exceed Twelve
