as shall be properly assigned to him by the said Judge and
he shall receive an annual salary of the sum of not less
than Two Thousand Dollars ($2, 000. 00), to be paid him
in twelve equal monthly installments by the County Com-
missioners of Wicomico County and may be increased at
any time by the said County Commissioners from county
funds; the said Clerk before entering upon his duties shall
give bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of Five
Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) with corporate surety satis-
factory to said County Commissioners, the premium of
said bond to be paid by the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County. The said Judge of the People's Court
shall also have the authority to appoint an additional
clerical assistant or assistants as may be necessary from
time to time, by and with the advice and consent of the
County Commissioners of Wicomico County, said County
Commissioners to fix the pay and compensation therefor;
said additional clerical assistant or assistants, appointed
as aforesaid, before entering upon his, her or their duties
thereof, shall give bond to the State of Maryland in the
penalty of Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) with cor-
porate surety satisfactory to said County Commissioners,
the premium of said bond or bonds to be paid by the
County Commissioners of Wicomico County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to legalize the 1949 Edition of the Code of Public
Local Laws and Charter of Baltimore City, being Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, com-
piled and edited by Horace E. Flack.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Code of Public Local Laws and Charter of Balti-
more City, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, compiled and edited by Horace E. Flack,
be and the same is hereby legalized, and shall be deemed
and taken in all the courts of the State, and by all Justices
of the Peace and Trial Magistrates of the State, and by
