SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 8 of
Article 88A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "State Department of Public Welfare",
sub-title "Board of Welfare", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

8. All monies appropriated to charitable institutions,
organizations or agencies, excepting hospitals, shall be
paid to them on a per capita basis at the rates and subject
to the rules and regulations established by the State Board
of Public Welfare.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

Approved March 31, 1949.

CHAPTER 109
(Senate Bill 229)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
100 (Wicomico County) of Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Justices of
the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", author-
izing the Judges of the People's Court of Wicomico
County to appoint an additional clerical assistant or
assistants and providing for the compensation of said
assistant or assistants.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 100 (Wicomico County) of Article 52 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates Sys-
tem", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

100.

(Wicomico County. ) There shall be one Trial Magis-
trate who shall sit at Salisbury and shall receive an annual
salary of Three Thousand Dollars ($3, 000. 00), the said
Trial Magistrate so appointed to be known as the Judge
of the People's Court.

There shall be appointed biennially by the Judge of the
People's Court a Clerk who shall keep all dockets of and
supervise and manage the Office of the People's Court of
said county and said Clerk shall perform such other duties
