for Aldermen to have been elected as the Aldermen of Liberty-
town. Said persons elected shall take office immediately.

Said Board of Elections is hereby authorized to accept from
any civic or similar organization in the Town of Libertytown
whatever funds may be necessary for the conduct of such
special election. Said Board may adopt such reasonable rules
and regulations as may be necessary in the conduct of the
said special election.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That if any provisions
of this Article, or the application thereof to any person or
circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of this Article
and the applicability thereof to other persons and circum-
stances shall not be affected thereby.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

CHAPTER 557

(House Bill 407)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 30 of Article
39 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement),
title "Fish and Fisheries", sub-title "Tidal Waters", said
new sub-section to be known as sub-section (d), to follow
immediately after sub-section (c) of said section, pro-
hibiting the use of haul seines in the Potomac River dur-
ing certain months.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted 'by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to
Section 30 of Article 39 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Fish and Fisheries", sub-title
"Tidal Waters", said new sub-section to be known as sub-sec-
tion (d), to follow immediately after sub-section (c) of said
section, and to read as follows:

30.

(d) Provided, however, that the use of haul seines shall be
prohibited in waters of the Potomac River during the months
of January, February and March of each year. And provided
further, that the provisions of this sub-section (d) in relation
to fishing on the Potomac River shall be of no force or valid-
