SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 36 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", as said section was
amended by Chapter 207 of the Acts of 1941, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

36. There shall be three County Commissioners for
Carroll County who shall each receive a salary of twenty-
two hundred dollars ($2, 200. 00) per annum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

Approved April 29, 1949.

CHAPTER 500
(Senate Bill 498)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 240 (c) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title
"Gasoline Tax", further defining the term "Dealer".

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 240 (c) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title
"Gasoline Tax", be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(c) The term "Dealer" is hereby defined as any person,
firm or corporation (including the State of Maryland and
any political subdivision thereof), (1) making the first
sale in this State of any motor vehicle fuel, imported from
beyond the territorial confines of the State after the same
shall have been received in this State; (2) consuming or
using in this State any motor vehicle fuel so imported,
who shall have purchased the same before it shall have
been received by any other person in this State; or (3)
producing, refining, preparing, distilling, manufacturing,
blending, or compounding motor vehicle fuel in this State.
However, the term shall not include automobile dealers
importing new automobiles into this State which may con-
tain gasoline in the fuel supply tank of said vehicles.
