the police patrol boat and the cost of land needed for
the erection of station-houses out of the Special Fund.
WHEREAS, the Special Fund is only used for the paying
of police pensions; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 959 and 960 of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Char-
ter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Spe-
cial Fund", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 257B of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-
title "Fire Companies, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 321 of the Acts of 1945, increasing the amount
to be levied by Talbot County for fire companies and the
amounts to be paid to certain of said companies.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 257B of Article 21 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot
County, " sub-title "Fire Companies, " as said section was
amended by Chapter 321 of the Acts of 1945, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
257B. The County Commissioners of Talbot County are
hereby authorized and directed to appropriate annually
the sum of Ten Thousand Seven Hundred 'Dollars ($10, -
700. 00) for the use and benefit of the organized and incor-
porated fire companies of Talbot County and to levy on
the taxable basis of said County a tax sufficient to produce
said Ten Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($10, 700. 00).
The amount thus levied and appropriated shall be used
for the purchase, improvement, maintenance and opera-
tion of fire apparatus and fire equipment for the said fire
