CHAPTER 97
(Senate Bill 182)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-
section "Dorchester County, " of Section 100 of Article
52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace, " sub-title "Trial
Magistrates System, " providing for an additional trial
Magistrate at Vienna, Maryland, and fixing his salary
and expenses.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section "Dorchester County, " of Section 100 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Sup-
plement), title "Justices of the Peace, " sub-title "Trial
Magistrates System, " be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:

(Dorchester County. ) There shall be three Trial Mag-
istrates, one of whom shall sit at Cambridge and shall
receive an annual salary of $2, 100. 00. The said Magistrate
sitting at Cambridge shall appoint a clerk, who shall re-
ceive an annual salary to be fixed by the County Commis-
sioners, but not exceeding $1, 500. 00, payable monthly, the
said salary to be paid by the County Commissioners of
Dorchester County. The other two trial magistrates shall
sit at Hurlock and Vienna respectively and hold sessions
on at least three days in each week and shall receive an
annual salary of $500. 00. Administrative and clerical
expenses for the trial magistrate at Vienna shall be the
same as those provided for the magistrate at Hurlock.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1949.
