Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Elections, " and any amendments thereto
shall apply.
239W. All provisions of law not expressly repealed by
this sub-title shall remain in full force and operation,
insofar as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of
this sub-title, and all laws, and parts thereof, and all rules
and regulations, adopted thereunder, insofar as the same
are inconsistent with the provisions of this sub-title, are
suspended hereby to the extent of such inconsistency.
239X. If any part, section, paragraph, clause, sentence
or provision of This Act, or any application thereof, is held
invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Act and other
applications thereof shall not be affected thereby and to
this end the provisions of this Act are declared to be
severable.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

(Senate Bill 226)
AN ACT to add eleven (11) new Sections to Article 964
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Veterans, "
as said Article was added to said Code by the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1945 Session, said new Sections
to follow immediately after Section 7 of said Article
and to be under the sub-title "Re-employment of Second
World War Veterans, " and to be known as Sections 8,
9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18, providing for the
re-employment of Second World War Veterans in State
and local public service; and to repeal Sections 95 and 97
of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supp. ), title "Militia, " sub-title "Re-employment of Per-
sons in Military Service".
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That eleven (11) new Sections be added to Article 96 1/2
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Veterans, " as
said Article was added to said Code by the General Assem-
